How to complete a pickup
1. Before you leave your town, stop at your local host home and pick up the empty coolers and bottles that were returned last time
2. Come to the farm or designated mid-way point and load up the coolers
3. Bring the milk back to your area host home
4. Call each of the owners on the packing slip and let them know that their milk is available
Milk pickup notes:
1. Pack full bottles in ice. Pack empty bottles in newspaper. The key to fresh, long-lasting milk is to keep it cold!
2. The deliverer calls each group member when their milk is ready for pickup at the host home.
3. Leave empty bottles at the host home when picking up full ones.
4. A cooler packing slip from the farm is included with the milk to tell everyone who gets what, with phone numbers and the address of the host home. Leave this note with the milk. Bottles are labeled with each owner's last name.
5. The date on the jars is the date the milk was milked from the cow. The milk should taste fresh for two weeks, depending on how cold it has been kept.
