| Here at Bartlett Farm, we work closely with our chickens to ensure that not only their diet is healthy, but that their lifestyle is also. Once you’ve tasted a plump, tender, juicy pastured broiler, we sincerely doubt that you’ll ever want to eat a store-bought chicken again. It’s that good!
Broilers are moved from their brooder to moveable pens on pasture before the fourth week of their life. Every morning the pens are moved to fresh grass to provide a clean living environment and healthy atmosphere. Clean drinking water is available at all times and the broilers are allowed plenty of room to stretch, scratch, and run around in the natural manner of chickens.
They are fed a well rounded diet of corn, oats, soybeans, oyster shells, fish meal, probiotics, Icelandic kelp, and specially formulated nutritional supplements. We never give them antibiotics or hormones because we are aware that those things are harmful to both chicken and human health.
These benefits and procedures are also descriptive of pastured turkeys. There's nothing quite like following the old paths when it comes to raising quality meat for your table!
